Permanent | Full Time
Reporting to the Head of Communications & Governance

This is a pivotal governance support role ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the Museum’s Trust Board, subcommittees and organisational planning processes.

You will work closely with the Governance and Stakeholder Relations Manager to coordinate governance processes and documentation, support compliance requirements, and strengthen planning and risk processes across the organisation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure and process improvement to an evolving and dynamic governance environment.  

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing agendas, compiling board papers and taking accurate minutes for Trust Board subcommittees (Development, Audit & Risk, Executive and Planning)
  • Tracking board resolutions and action items to ensure timely follow-up
  • Maintaining policy and contract registers, including tracking renewals and updates
  • Managing the Board forward work programme and supporting organisational planning cycles, milestones and reporting timelines
  • Supporting risk management processes, including maintaining the Risk Register
  • Coordinating documentation for audit and Statement of Service Performance reporting
  • Coordinating and monitoring LIGOIMA requests within statutory timeframes

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience supporting governance functions (board/committee coordination, agenda preparation, minute-taking)
  • Strong understanding of governance frameworks, compliance and risk processes
  • Experience maintaining policy and contract databases
  • Ability to manage planning schedules and competing deadlines
  • Exceptional written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence working with senior leaders and Trustees
  • Highly organised with strong priority-setting capability
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgement and discretion
  • Experience coordinating Official Information requests is advantageous
  • Experience using OnBoard is advantageous

You will bring a collaborative approach to your work with the ability to be flexible and resilient.
