Job Description
We are looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Visitor Hosts to create memorable visitor experiences for local, national and international visitors and help care for one of Aotearoa’s most treasured cultural institutions.
The purpose of this role is to enhance the Museum’s public profile by delivering a high-quality visitor experience through customer service and positive interactions with the public whilst ensuring the safety and security of visitors, staff and collections.
The fundamental part of a Visitor Host is to be the first point of contact for all our visitors to provide a warm welcome and a great visitor experience in keeping Manaakitanga (respect, humility, kindness and honesty to others) and Kaitiakitanga (guardianship and protection).
Our Visitor Hosts will also process visitor payments, including cash handling, EFTPOS, and ticketing and play an important role in ensuring the safety and security of visitors, staff and collections and in responding appropriately to incidents and emergencies when required.

Ō pūmanawa | What you will bring We are looking for people who have:
Previous customer service or customer-facing experience is preferred. However, we welcome applications from people with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding visitor experiences.
Outstanding customer service skills with a proactive approach.
The ability to handle difficult customer situations in a calm and collected manner whilst demonstrating empathy.
Demonstrate a cultural awareness and respect for a wide range of cultures, traditions and associated protocols within Auckland.
Cash handling experience and good with numeracy.
A “can-do” positive attitude, thinking outside of the square to solve problems or issues.
Flexibility to work evenings, public holidays and weekends is required.
