Job Description

Mō te tūranga | About the role

We are seeking a Venue Coordinator who is dedicated and client-focused, with a strong commitment to delivering quality experiences. This full-time and permanent role involves building trusted relationships and supporting clients through important commercial events, ensuring every event respects the significance of the Museum and the care we show to our people and taonga.

This role is responsible for:

  • Managing the coordination of commercial events to ensure smooth delivery and exceptional client experiences 
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, and internal Museum teams
  • Managing all event logistics, documentation, and on-the-day execution with precision and care
  • Hosting site visits and meetings to guide clients through the planning process
  • Ensuring all events comply with health, safety, cultural and collection care protocols
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of internal Museum events as required
  • Upholding exceptional standards in presentation, client service, and communication throughout every stage of event delivery

Desired Skills and Experience

  • At least 3 years' experience in event or venue coordination
  • Strong commercial and customer service focus
  • Excellent communication and planning skills
  • Confidence managing multiple events and tight timelines
  • A proactive, self-starting approach
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays (as required)
