Job Description
Mō te tūranga | About the role
We are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Museum or Library /Information professional to join the Online Cenotaph and Enquiry Services team. The Collection Access Librarian plays a central role in leading enquiry management across the Museum, supporting access to the Research Library Te Pātaka Mātāpuna, and delivering an integrated, efficient, and mana-enhancing research service onsite and online.
With a strong customer-centred approach, you will provide accurate guidance and specialised support for Museum staff and researchers. This includes managing the enquiry system, facilitating interloans and serials, supporting research databases and citation tools, and preparing subject-matter research support such as topic briefs and literature searches. You will contribute to building research capability across the Museum.

Demonstrate leadership in managing enquiries and influencing colleagues towards effective work practices
Exhibit strong organisational and administrative skills across research systems and library operations
Show initiative in improving workflows, data quality, and research service delivery
Hold a tertiary qualification in Library, Information Studies, Archival Studies or an equivalent field, or be currently studying towards one
Have proven experience in providing targeted research support
Possess frontline customer service skills
Communicate clearly with a wide range of users and stakeholders
Bring strong knowledge of digital collection information, databases, research tools, and citation management systems
Have experience with interloans and serials management (desirable)
Basic proficiency in Te Reo and in tikanga Māori or a Pacific language and Pacific protocols

You must be eligible to currently work in New Zealand to be considered for this position. Please view the position description here or select the apply button to view on the seek platform. Starting salary guide: $64,000 to $69,000 per annum dependant on relevant qualifications and experience.
