Job Description
Mō te tūranga | About the role
As Collections Documentation Technician you will be an integral member of the Collections Documentation team, improving and understanding our collections information. We have a full-time but fixed term opportunity, running till late November 2026. In this role you will:
ensure museum collections are accounted for and accessible
conduct inventory, enhanced cataloguing and, where necessary, audits of collections
use paper records to identify and improve the collection information within our collection management system
where necessary, create high quality digital images
Desired Skills and Experience
Ō pūmanawa | What you will bring
Several years’ experience using collection management systems or other databases in a museum context
Demonstrated solid understanding of collection management disciplines including documentation and object handling
Strong attention to detail is essential
Ability to work closely with others but also independently if necessary
