This role is responsible for:

Karangahia te Ao

He tūranga hou kei Tāmaki Paenga Hira

We are looking for someone with fluency in te reo Māori to uplift the work that is before us. A person that is enthusiastic to support and lead spaces with Toki Matarau team and the Taumata ā-Iwi.

The years ahead are full with opportunities and this role will embody manaakitanga. Including co-ordinating whānau, hapū, Iwi and communities to ensure they enjoy their experiences with taonga, learnings, events within the walls of the Museum.

The purpose of this role is to support the direction of Tāmaki Paenga Hira on its’ journey on Path to 2029 with all the work entailed in the years to come.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Ō pūmanawa | What you will bring

Essential:

  • Fluency in te reo Māori
  • Knowledge of the tikanga of many iwi across the motu
  • An understanding of the Iwi relationships in Tāmaki
  • Iwi networks (and on a practical level, knowing who in particular to contact when required)

Preferred:

  • Proven administration and coordination skills experience at a Governance level
  • Experience with navigating dialogue on constitutional structure
